One of the largest and most beautiful cabins in the area this
great lodge style building located on the banks of the lower
Mountain Fork river was built in 2005 for those large groups that
like to play together and stay together. Designed to accommodate
approximately thirty people, RiverBend Lodge is perfect for
corporate, religious or any other type of retreat, weeklong/weekend
camp groups, family reunions and other groups or gatherings.
The great room features a beautiful, double sided, mountain rock
fire place flanked by antler chandeliers in both sides of the room.
The seating consists of Futons that convert to beds for sleeping
space. For movie nights there is even a 42in plasma screen TV with
satellite service. For additional entertainment inside
there is a nice sized shuffleboard table.
There are two sleeping rooms with a total of 10 bunks (hence the
name Bunk House!) There are 15 twin bunks and 5 full sized with
mattresses. You bring your favorite pillow and either sleeping bag
or linens. The two Futons in the great room offer additional full
sized sleeping accommodations. Air mattresses are also available. If
you need even more sleeping space, the two bedroom cabin next
door may be available to rent together at a special rate.
The kitchen is large with abundant cabinet and counter space, two
range/ovens, microwave, large refrigerator and there is an icemaker
that will fill your ice chests twice a day. Tables are in the
kitchen for serving up those large meals buffet style. Both
bathrooms feature 2 full shower stalls along with a deep industrial
sink for cleaning dirty clothes or shoes.
For on site fun you always have a place to relax and enjoy the
peacefulness of the river. Several porch swings and outdoor tables to allow you a
moment to catch your breath and kick back a moment taking in your
surroundings. Expect to see one or more of the numerous eagles,
deer, squirrel, and other wildlife that live here. A boat ramp is
located right next to the building and guests are encouraged to
bring their fishing boats, canoes or rent a canoe if desired from
either Wild Goose or Ambush Adventures.
For the kiddos, there is a huge
play set (for picture) featuring swings, climbing wall and fort and
of course that bamboo forest for exploring. For even more play those
horse shoe lovers will appreciate a designated area all set up and
ready as soon as you unpack. A boat ramp just a few steps from the
Lodge along with additional seating to enjoy the river a bit lower
on the rivers bank. Plenty of parking is available with additional
room for overflow.
